About Us
Velazquez Pain Relief Center is a multi-location pain management practice dedicated to helping patients manage chronic pain and improve quality of life. We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Medical Assistant Manager to help lead our medical assistants and keep daily operations running smoothly across all four of our clinics.
About the Role
The Medical Assistant Manager oversees day-to-day medical assistant operations across our four locations, leading a team of Medical Assistants while staying hands-on in patient care when needed. This role is part manager, part mentor, and part problem-solver — someone who can staff a schedule, train a new hire, jump in on the floor during a busy shift, and handle a patient concern with the same level of confidence. Regular travel between our clinic locations is a core part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily staff scheduling across all four clinic locations, including coordinating coverage for call-outs and unplanned absences
- Step in and work as a Medical Assistant whenever additional clinical coverage is needed
- Lead onboarding and training for new Medical Assistant hires, ensuring consistent clinical and administrative standards across all locations
- Serve as a point of contact for patient complaints, resolving concerns promptly, professionally, and with empathy
- Supervise and support MA staff to ensure efficient, accurate day-to-day clinical operations
- Monitor staff performance and workflow to identify and correct inefficiencies or errors
- Travel regularly between all four clinic locations to support daily operations, staff, and patient needs
- Partner with clinic and practice leadership on staffing, training, and operational issues as they arise
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, including at least 1 year in a lead, charge, or supervisory role
- Experience in pain management or another specialty clinic setting preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular travel between locations
- Comfortable working with EHR and scheduling systems
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to manage patient concerns calmly and professionally
- Proven ability to train, coach, and hold staff accountable
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing shifting priorities across multiple sites
What We Offer
- Competitive pay, based on experience
- Benefits — health/dental/vision, PTO, 401(k)
- A supportive, team-oriented environment across a growing multi-location practice
- Opportunity to make a direct impact on patient experience and clinic operations
Velazquez Pain Relief Center is an equal opportunity employer.
